The smell of the earth in the rain is a quick fix to all my broken heart pieces to sustain.
The word monsoon is scientifically defined as seasonal reversing of wind accompanied by corresponding changes in precipitation but how can the weather be a solution to all the emotional turmoil going inside of you? Does your mood depend on the amount of precipitation?
My mood sure does.
If I may, I believe I’m a summer hater and a monsoon lover. In the monsoon season, I’m like a chirping bird seated calmly on a tree branch in awe of the beauty this monsoon weather has to offer.
In Mumbai, it certainly gets difficult to travel every day in the rains as the traffic scenes get worsen yet I set foot in this city of dreams with a smile on my face. For some, this weather is gloomy and dreary but for me, it is all about that fresh feeling. I love how the mist moistens the atmosphere in this season. It also helps me moisten the hardships and I tend to forget about my pain sitting by the window pane.
All these years, the emotional satisfaction which I was looking for, I found that in the innate sound of the raindrops falling on the ground. This sound of the raindrops howsoever the intensity hushes the worrisome sounds going inside of me and soothes my soul.
Water is one of the five basic elements other than air, earth, fire and space. The main function of water is about washing away. Just as it flushes out the toxins in our body when consumed, it washes away all the negativity from our Life as well. As soon as the cold sea breeze touches my face I feel rejuvenated and all prepared to handle any problem whatsoever. Give me a hair tie and a few bobby pins and I can make any hairstyle likewise monsoons and long drives make me believe that I can conquer the world.
All of us should take some time out from the never-ending race to survive in this world and concentrate on the little things that make us happy. Mumbai’s monsoon weather gives that perfect excuse. For a few minutes in a day mute those social media notifications and spend time with your loved ones. Enjoy those droplets making the trees look more beautiful and greener than ever before.
Mumbai rains I adore you with all my heart, you save me from falling apart.
